چکیده

Floods are one of the most common natural phenomena and represent a serious hazard when they affect human activities. Structural measures commonly used to mitigate them; however, these do not always give good results, mainly in plain areas with scarce slope. In this sense, generation flood map contributes adequate management disaster prevention. The aim work is evaluate hydrological basins slope, taking as case study Samborombón river basin located Pampean Plain, Argentina. For this, was made based on analytical hierarchy process using GIS, into account physical aspects terrain, observations, field measurements. Likewise, validated satellite images inhabitants danger were quantified. results show that correspond floodplain rivers tributaries, while main secondary divide zones have low sectors. On other hand, numerous urban settlements identified within areas, being vicinity old centers new gated communities high value homes, quantifying 1961 at showing poor territorial planning. methodology proposed gives agencies possibility generating land use maps, well designing mitigation contingency plans after large rainfall event.

Comparison of classic and fuzzy analytic hierarchy processes for mapping the flood hazard of Birjand plain

Flood is one of the most destructive natural hazards which impose vast costs in order to compensate its effects, especially in areas where there are manifestations of human development (such as cities). Urban development, particularly in the margins of rivers, has increased flood damages in recent decades. The aim of this study was to develop flood hazard maps of Birjand plain based on analyses...

Management Strategies For Reduce the Consequences of Flood Hazard with the SWOT Analytical Method (Case Study: Hamedan- Bahar Plain)

Inadequate productivity and over-capacity of land in many watersheds and plains of the country, has increased flooding potential. Therefore, reducing flood damage with the participation of both policymakers and the public as key stakeholders in decision-making, planning, long-term management and foresight in decisions are unavoidable. In the present study, SWOT analytical method was used to ...

Cs in flood - plain soils of the Techa river

The Techa river was contaminated in 1949-1956 from the nuclear enterprise "MAYAK". The investigations were carried out in flood plain of the Techa river in 1992-1999. In the upper and middle parts of the river the basic contaminator is I 3 7 Cs; downstream more active is 9 0 Sr. Density of contamination of soils with 9 0 Sr down the river changes from 600 to 200 kBq/m , and that with 1 3 7 Cs f...

Assessment of Birjand flood plain water quality by physico-chemical parameters analysis in Iran

We assessed the physico-chemical status of twelve surface water samples from the Birjand flood plain (east of Iran) during fall 2010. The sampling points were selected on the basis of their importance. The physico-chemical parameters such as pH, temperature (T), electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), total hardness (TH), calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+ ), sodium (Na+), pota...
